The Toni King Experience
All right, all right, welcome back to another great episode of Teach One Tuesday podcast. I'm so excited to be back. We're going to get into some great things, man, and I'm excited to share those things with you. Took a little bit of a break, some things I need to put in order, and so now, man, I'm back to share some great information. Before I get into that, let's get into that great theme music family. So, all right, all right, welcome back. Welcome back to another great episode of Teach One Tuesday. Man, we're going to get into some great things. Today. I'm excited to share with you that my latest album, kingdom Radio, has dropped Dropped last year, uh, and and oh, november, november last year, uh, november 15th to be exact, and um, the process I went to, I went through to create this um project, uh, this is what I want to share with you guys, and so I'm so excited to jump into that, but, uh, forgive the time, um, that has passed in between episodes that there are some things that were happening that I need to deal with, and so I needed to step away from the podcast, um, for a time. Now I am back, ready to continue to give great information to my creatives, and I'm ready to go forth, man, and just to just to empower you so that you can continue to create your music, your, your singles, your EPs, your albums, anything that you're working on. Um, I am here to serve you, and so, quick and easy, I'm not going to have this episode be too long. I just wanted to come back and say hello to everyone and thank you so much for listening and hanging in there with me.
Speaker 1:But the first nugget I want to drop for you as it pertains to creating an album, because I want to go through my process, as to what I did to create this album, and so the very first idea is just to really get down and record your initial ideas, and this can be melodies, melodies for the chorus, it can be a melody for the verse, it can be just a piece of a lyric, it can be percussion, whatever it is. I want to make sure you understand that you need to get this initial idea down, because time will pass and you will forget. It's a high probability that you will forget what your initial idea or ideas are if you do not get those ideas down and record it. And so I'm encouraging you please go and record this on your phone, computer, whatever you have next to you, your iPad. Get the idea down, because you're going to want to return to this idea later on, so that you can flush this idea out. And this is how I start all my songs, all my songs start with voice memos on my iPhone. That's where it starts, and later I return to flush these things out, which I'll get into in another episode, but today I want you to understand how important those initial ideas are. Do not judge those ideas, don't think that they're crap, don't think that they're not good enough. There is just the beginning, and just the start of you creating an amazing song or an arrangement.
Speaker 1:If you're doing a cover for somebody, or doing a cover of someone else's song, rather, and so it is important to do this, it's important to get everything down melodies, percussion, lyrics, everything. Have everything on your phone. And I want to encourage you as well, as which I started doing is, uh, organizing your voice memo. So what I have done for the next album that will be coming out next year, 2026, kingdom Radio 2, I'm organizing everything in my phone. So all my voice memos is to say, for a particular song, I'm putting all that in a folder. I actually have a Kingdom Radio 2 folder where all the initial ideas are in, so there's no confusion. I can go straight to it. Boom, everything's there. So, uh, the other thing I want to tell you is to be organized as organized as you can. Make sure that you have some type of notebook. I have a notebook, um, where I write all my music out, and and I'll tell you this, I'll just give you a little snippet of the next step is I have a notebook where I write all my music out, um, uh, everything. I write lyrics to everything, chorus, verse, everything. Have it down. Make sure you have that organized, have your title. You can date it if you like. Make sure all this stuff is important so you can come back to it. Actually, my last notebook is all filled up.
Speaker 1:My wife bought me for Christmas time. She bought me a new notebook, she personalized it for me. It was fantastic and I totally love it, and so, actually, I haven't written my first song in it yet, but I'm about to start Get ready for that. So I'm very excited, man, about what's happening and I want to share all these things with you. All right, so this one is not going to be long.
Speaker 1:I wanted to just come on and say hello to everyone. Thank you so much for hanging in there with me listening to my podcast. I hope you're learning a whole lot. I believe there's a new feature through Buzzsprout which is what I do my podcast through where you guys can communicate with me, and so don't be shy. I want to set that up so everyone can start communicating and sending messages and letting and and letting me know if, if, what I am teaching you, what I am giving you, is helping you. All right, so, uh, I want to thank you so much for checking this out. I want to thank you so much for hanging out, hanging in there with me, you know, coming back to listen to my podcast. I hope you're having a wonderful day. If you're not having a wonderful day, you can change that by your mindset. Thanks so much. Talk to you soon.
