Speaker 1:All right, let's get into the subject today, and I wanted to talk about plugins. I want to talk about VSTs, and let me just give you the definition of that, so we know we're all on the same page. Vst is a virtual studio, virtual studio technology is what it stands for, but virtual instruments, and I said in my last episode I wanted to talk about, I wanted to talk about some plugins and some things that I use. I want to talk about some ones that I use. I'm just gonna talk about ones that are out there so that you can go and you can take advantage of these plugins. So let's get into it. I'll just give a brief, so now says about it, as I'm going through some of these.
Speaker 1:The first one I want to mention is serum. It's great for EDM producers. Let's see, it's an incredible synthesizer of your antide style of music. So go and check out serum on this sphere. It's a hybrid synth that continues to be among the top VSTs. It has a massive library, so go and check that out as well. I'm this fear. All right, I'm just gonna go through the line and you go and check out ones that you want to. You know the ones that you like. The next one is Diva. It is an analog modeling synth which excels in sounding incredibly fat and realistic. Vito it is a wavetable synth VST it's incredible. It is popular. So Vito. Vital is another one Going down the list here.
Speaker 1:Nexus 4 is another one. Nexus is a Rombler which has incredible solid sounds, perfect for mainstream EDM and dance production. All right, that's another one. Antaria, analog lab. Antaria is known for developing the best emulations of classic vintage synths.
Speaker 1:Synthesizers it's hard to say that word, all right, synthesizers. So I want you guys to know the possibilities and everything that's. You know some of what's out there so that you can create, all right. So next I want to get into. This is going to be more for mixing and mastering or for mixing. Fab filter this is processing plugins. It is a great plugin. It has EQs, it has compressors, it has limiters, it has reverbs and much more. So I personally go with. I personally go with IZOTope for my mixing and mastering needs. But fab filters is another company you can check out for those needs, so go check out fab filter.
Speaker 1:All right, soundtoys is another one Soundtoys and creative processing plugins. We'll stand out from the rest. It is a popular BST and this, yeah, so they have all kinds of things for sound toys. They, you know, have this one. The capitator is a distortion, just what I'm looking at right now for you guys. So sound toys, go check out. I've looked at some mixing and mastering videos that you know. Some people have used sound toys and this, from what I understand, it's a great product, so go check it out.
Speaker 1:I'm just going to start going to some that I personally, that I personally use or I don't use this one, but I've heard about this one's the EQ plug in. Soothe to soothe removes harshness, reduces and vocals, as well as treats uneven tonal balance in recordings. It removes mud boominess as well as treats the proximity effect. All right. So that's soothe to all right. So obviously had the first one, so second one is out. Go and check that out. I don't have that one. Looked at videos where people have talked about that plug in, so go check it out. Of course you got your. You know, auto tune your vocal processors auto tune on to try to pronounce this on terrorist auto. I think that's how you. I think it's how you pronounce it on terrorist auto tune. It's a popular one.
Speaker 1:Is a plug in that I use, that I actually recently just got Melodyne is a plug in that I just recently purchased, you know, because I'm working on a record and I'm editing my own stuff. So this is so much better for me. This is so much better than the flex in logic, which is what I use to correct pitch, timing and all that kind of stuff. So now I am I've heard about Melodyne for a long time but just got it and I am definitely a fan. I have Melodyne editor. They have another level studio, so great for your vocal stuff, even for instrumental stuff, that you can correct timing and pitch and all that kind of stuff. So go and check that out.
Speaker 1:It's another one I want to tell you about All right contact. So so this is from complete and companies complete, but contact is is the contact is a go to plug in for sample instruments, is a sampler, for which there is an incredible selection of third party recorded instrument libraries. So this is what I use. Contact is what I've been using for some time now. I go between stuff from logic, sounds from logic and contact and some other things. But contact is a great is great plugins. I will encourage you to go and check that out.
Speaker 1:Keyscape was another one. It's a. Key scape was a keyboard plugin which samples some of the greatest pianos, roles and digital keyboards. It gives you easy access to all the sounds and features. Keep some very keyboards as well, which you can combine with other sounds to create combo patches. All right. So key scape is another one, amazing, amazing product. And then you get into more the processing, that ozone for mastering that's from isotope.
Speaker 1:So these are just some of the plugins, some that I use or some that I've heard of and I've watched other producers and engineers use and talk about, and so these plugins, these VSTs, are super important for your workflow, is important to educate yourself, for you know on what each plugin does, you know, and the possibilities are literally endless. So I want to encourage you to go and check out these plugins, check out these VSTs and just look up, look some of them up. You know, just going YouTube before you buy, read about them, make sure it's something that you want, that you want to get into, that you want to purchase these plugins. Have some of them. These have definitely changed my life. My workflows made things so much easier, allowed me to be so creative, so I wanted to read some of them to you and encourage you to go and check them out. All right, I want to thank you so much for checking out this episode.
