Go and check out those things in my website. All those things are there for you. Alright, let's jump in here.

Speaker 1:

This is projects 2. I think I left off talking about. I was giving an example about writing, flushing your music out, and when you are writing your first verse, second verse, of course, whatever, it is be sure to record. After you flush out your music, be sure to record. So if you're, if you just wrote your first verse, take time to take that phone out, do a voice memo and record that so you can remember how you phrased it. You know the melody, everything, so you don't have to think. You just get it out, alright, you go on to the next part, alright, and so I want you to go through that process, even when you're doing the chorus, obviously, and you're doing the bridge, and so all these things are important.

Speaker 1:

Now what I want you to also think about is what I do, because I'm giving my process. I'm working on a new project. Kingdom Radio is going to be dropping February 1st 2024 be sure to stay tuned for that but I'm giving my process as to what I do Now, certain things. You know. There are a lot of things that I can do. I have musical training, so there are a lot of things that I can take care of myself. But all of you don't have that ability or, shall I say, skill. Don't worry, just write down or and record what you can get down and record and give it to someone who has the ability, the skills to flush out your music. Alright, so don't worry, alright.

Speaker 1:

So also, what I want you to do is decide what the form of your song is going to be, alright, decide how you're going to flush this thing out. Decide how long you want your intro to be. With pop, I know, the intros are usually very short. They're very short. They don't take time to get to the verse. You know, sometimes people do so. When they get to the verse, they do a verse and they do a little In a little part, a little instrumental part, and then going to the second verse.

Speaker 1:

There are different ways, there are different forms out there, and I want you to be aware of this. Different forms. Now, there's a certain part that needs to be uniform. If you know, if you have a, your chorus is a certain way the first time, it needs to be the form of it. It needs to be basically the same way. Now. You can add instruments, you can add melody, you can add things to it, but basically, as far as your, as far as your lyrics to phrasing, it needs to be the same. Alright, it needs to be uniform. But you can add things around it Different instruments, percussion, other melodies, rhythms but it pretty much needs to be the same lyrically, melody, wise, if you want to add some stuff to it. As far as the vocal as well, you can add some, maybe some harmony the second time, but for the most part, the foundation of your chorus needs to be the same.

Speaker 1:

Alright, there's certain things that need to be uniform, but if you think about going for your bridge, you want the bridge to be the same key. You want to be another key, you want to be instrumental. All these things need to be decided and it's important that you decide this. And if you don't know, then get with someone who has understanding of form. He has understanding of what happens during these sections and how to excite these sections. You don't want the energy to drop. You want the excitement to continue. You want people to continue to listen for what's coming next. So this is very, very, very important for you to decide.

Speaker 1:

Next, think about. One of the things I think about, too is you know, as far as my vocal, the, the chorus, do I want my chorus to be in harmony? Do I want it to be in unison? Do I want certain certain words to be in harmony? Do I want the entire thing to be in unison? And then, as far as the harmony harmony is concerned, you want two part, three part, four part. These are things that I am deciding as I'm writing the music. Right, as I am writing the music, I'm deciding on these things and and I would encourage you to write these things down once again, you don't have to think about it or record it. Leave a note for yourself, record it so you know how you want this music to play out. It's important to to know exactly, know exactly what you want and and you know this again be decisive, be very decisive as to what you want.

Speaker 1:

Now don't worry if you decide, you decide something and then you come back to your music and there's something else that you hear it. Get your hearing. Do not be afraid to change. All right, I'm not saying get married to it, it's in stone. No, it's not in stone. You can change your music. If you're still in the beginning stages, you can change some things, do not worry. Change your lyrics, change how you want to phrase it. If you want to change the form, all right. But try to decide these things in the beginning, before you're starting, before you start tracking or before your producer starts tracking your stuff. Try to decide all these amazing things.

Speaker 1:

And I'm going to stop here because I want to do a new projects three. I want to. I want to continue to give these nuggets, but I want to give too much in one setting. All right, so listen to this again, if you need to, to go over these tips and things that I'm giving you so that your workflow can be so much better.
